Bitnomial Launches XRP Futures in U.S. After SEC Vs Ripple Case

Bitnomial Exchange has officially introduced its XRP futures contract in response to the most recent developments in the US SEC vs Ripple lawsuit.

Brad Garlinghouse, the CEO of Ripple, declared on March 19, 2025, that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission had withdrawn its appeal in the regulator’s case against Ripple. Bitnomial announced shortly after that it was dropping its lawsuit against the SEC.

Bitnomial Debuts XRP Futures in the US

The cryptocurrency derivatives exchange announced the release of its XRP futures contract, which served as the basis for the lawsuit against the SEC, which Gary Gensler then led. Bitnomial is proceeding with its product rollout in light of the SEC’s recent leadership change and President Donald Trump’s pro-crypto stance.

Bitnomial said it had voluntarily withdrawn its lawsuit against the regulator in its announcement. After the SEC asserted jurisdiction over the proposed XRP futures product, the firm filed the first lawsuit against the agency in October 2024.

CFTC Approves Ripple Futures Trading

Bitnomial reports that the Commodity and Futures Trading Commission has approved the XRP futures contract, which will go live this Thursday.

The exchange stated in an X post that the first-ever CFTC-regulated $XRP futures in the United States are being introduced and will be physically settled for actual market impact. Additionally, as regulatory clarity improves, Bitnomial has voluntarily dropped our case against the SEC.

Bitnomial claims that as of March 20, 2025, existing clients will have access to the XRP futures contracts. All potential customers will have the chance to sign up with one of the futures commission merchant partners of the cryptocurrency derivatives exchange.

Companies that assist investors in purchasing and disposing of futures contracts are known as FCM partners. Bitnomial Clearing is a futures commission merchant connected to the exchange.

After the Ripple announcement, the price of XRP surged, and given more optimistic forecasts, it may continue to rise.
