Ripple CLO Stuart Alderoty dismissed rumors of political bias involving Donald Trump and Kamala Harris as “pure fiction.” Attorney John Deaton echoed concerns, blaming tribalism in crypto for spreading baseless claims amid XRP’s market surge.

Chief Legal Officer (CLO) of Ripple, Stuart Alderoty, has strongly denied rumors about the business and its leaders. According to the rumors, former President Donald Trump slammed Ripple for supposedly giving money to Kamala Harris’s campaign in the past. Alderoty said the claims were not true at all and called them “pure fiction” on Twitter.

Ripple denies political claims

The rumors began when Unchained said that Trump had said bad things about Ripple during a supposed chat.

The report says that Trump blamed Ripple for not supporting his administration at a crucial time and pointed out that Chris Larsen, Ripple’s co-founder, had given money to political action groups that supported Kamala Harris.

The news story also tied Ripple to a New York Post rumor that said Trump might be willing to put American cryptocurrencies like XRP in a national reserve. The price of Ripple’s coin, XRP, went up and hit $3.40, which was the highest it had been in seven years.

Alderoty quickly reacted to these claims on social media by calling into question the reliability of the sources who were not named. He wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “The rumors from this third-rate crypto site are all made up.”

Lawyer John Deaton Weighs In

A well-known person in the XRP community, attorney John Deaton, also said bad things about the reports. Deaton questioned the veracity of sources who were not named and emphasized how important it is to tell facts. He said that in the crypto world, tribalism often makes people afraid, unsure, and doubtful (FUD) about competing projects.

As Deaton took to X to express his opinions he wrote,

” Let me get this straight, a person who was not at the meeting told another person that they were guessing what may have been said at the meeting?” This is why we have rules of evidence in Court.”

Deaton also said that the market might be jealous or suspicious of XRP because it has been doing better lately than Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency.
