Ripple secures Money Transmitter Licenses in New York and Texas, enabling compliant cross-border payment services. The move boosts Ripple’s licensed operations to over 55 jurisdictions, including 33 U.S. states.
Ripple has obtained Money Transmitter Licenses (MTLs) in New York and Texas, which strengthens its presence in the U.S. These licenses let Ripple provide legal cross-border payment services, making it easier for financial institutions and crypto businesses to make faster and more efficient transactions.
This move aligns with hopes for a supportive cryptocurrency regulation under President Donald Trump. With these licenses, Ripple Payments customers can now use a licensed version of its cross-border payments platform in the U.S., where Ripple handles all the transactions.
As reported on the company’s website, these new licenses bring its total global MTLs to over 55, including 33 states in the U.S.
“We’re continuing to see more interest from financial institutions to crypto businesses that want to unlock the benefits of crypto and blockchain for faster, cost-efficient and 24/7 cross-border payments,” Joanie Xie, Ripple Managing Director of North America, noted.
“With years of experience working in both crypto and with financial institutions, Ripple is well-positioned to support companies who are ready to take advantage of the current landscape.”
